Montreal, Quebec – Following recent media coverage referencing Mr. Puffs in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation, as well as recent acts of vandalism targeting one of our Laval locations, Mr. Puffs’ Head Office wishes to provide the following clarifications.
Mr. Puffs is a proud Canadian company founded over 20 years ago on values of family, community, and integrity. Our mission has always been to create joyful moments through our products while fostering safe, welcoming environments in every community we serve.
Recent reporting has suggested that an individual known to law enforcement may have been associated with criminal activity and had allegedly operated within proximity to one of our Laval restaurants. Mr. Puffs categorically denies any business, financial, or operational ties to this individual or to any criminal organization.
All Mr. Puffs franchise locations are independently owned and operated under strict franchise agreements and compliance requirements. At no time has Head Office authorized, condoned, or been aware of any alleged activities described in media reports. We are deeply concerned by the implications of these claims and wish to reassure the public that Mr. Puffs has no involvement whatsoever in such matters.
In recent weeks, the Laval location has also been the target of repeated acts of violence and vandalism, resulting in property damage. Thankfully, no injuries have occurred. These incidents are being actively investigated by law enforcement, and we are cooperating fully with authorities.
In response, Mr. Puffs has taken the following actions:

Maintained open communication with law enforcement and offered full cooperation

Reviewed and reinforced internal franchise compliance and oversight protocols

Engaged directly with the franchisee to reaffirm contractual obligations, operational standards, and safety requirements
Mr. Puffs remains committed to protecting the trust of our guests, franchise partners, employees, and the communities we serve. Any actions or individuals found to compromise that trust will be addressed promptly and decisively.
